Some reports have indicated that no leading Liberal has come out firmly in opposition to the Tory move to gut public financing of political parties to the extent of voting against the Tory move.
We now have rumours of some Liberal MPs absenting themselves from Parliament during the vote, to ensure that Harper wins the vote.
This would be utter cowardice on the part of the Liberal leaders to allow such a transparently immoral reaction. Have Liberals not learned from the price they paid in the recent election that ducking issues and holding their noses while voting to shore up Tory legislation, diminishes them in the eyes of the voters?
Shame on Dion, if this is allowed. And shame on Messrs Leblanc, Ignatieff and Rae, too.
Voters expect moral courage in their Parliamentarians.
Show them you have it. Get the Whip to ensure that ALL MPs vote against the asinine Tory measure.
