It helps when you confront a problem to have someone who actually knows what is going on to guide you. And Rick Salutin guided us big time with his article in the Globe and Mail entitled Buy American Mayhem.
Let’s start with his humorous take on Harper calling Obama to ask for Canada to be excluded from the Buy America legislation in the Obama stimulus package:
“I especially like Michael Ignatieff's demand that Stephen Harper phone Barack Obama on this. I'd like to overhear that one. Uh, I'm calling to pretend there's a problem. … Fine, I'm taking the call to pretend the same thing. [Silence. Silence. Silence.] We agree, then. … Yes, good talking to you.”
