Right now, Obama has his hands full pushing his $825 billion stimulus plan through a recalcitrant Senate, with the Republicans running circles around the Democrats by singling out some pork barrel targets and tarnishing the whole package as a result.

So far, the public is siding with the Republicans and beginning to see the Obama stimulus package as not such a good thing. Unlike Harper, whose stimulus plan is loaded down with ineffective trinkets, Obama has been getting bad press; perhaps because Canadian journalists are lazier than their brethren down south …
