Despite state of denial, PM Harper owes Canadians an Apology for Contempt of Parliament
Posted by 2011 at 21:46Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper enjoys the dubious distinction of being the leader of the first government in the history of the Commonwealth to be found in contempt of Parliament.
The day after the Harper government fell because it lost the confidence of the House due to its contempt for Parliament, Michael Ignatieff issued a statement dealing with Liberal policy on coalitions. It included a very clear call to the Prime Minister to address the contempt of Parliament finding rather than ignore it:
Will he finally acknowledge the unprecedented finding of contempt against his government yesterday in the House of Commons?
Harper has preferred to lie to Canadians that his government lost a confidence vote
