Harper says he still wants to do away with the per-vote subsidy but now says it will have to wait until his Conservatives get a majority and then only after negotiations with other parties to help them “adapt to the new reality.

“Unless we have a majority government, we’ll never attempt to change because we know that in a minority government you can never move this forward,” Harper said during a campaign stop here.

When Harper last tried to cut political subsidies in order to gut the Bloc, it was one of the reasons why the opposition parties decided to terminate his minority government through the NDP-LPC Coalition Agreement of 2008 (the other reason was Harper's indifference to the approaching hurricane of the worst recession to hit the world since the Great Depression of the 1930s – remember his Let them buy stocks comment?)
