Jackass” star Ryan Dunn has been killed early Monday in a fiery car crash. According to the local media sources, he was driving his 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 near the Philadelphia suburb of West Chester when the car left the road, jumped the guardrail, plunged into a wooded area and burst into flames.
Dunn appeared on MTV shows “Jackass” and “Viva La Bam” and the three “Jackass” big-screen adaptations. He was 34-years old. “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn and an unidentified passenger lost their lives around 3 A.M. “as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.” Just hours before the wreck Dunn had been with friends at a bar in West Chester where he had uploaded a picture of himself with a drink in hand to his Twitter account, TMZ reports.
President of MTV Van Toffler Networks Music/Film Group said in a statement, “We are devastated by the tragic loss of Ryan Dunn — a beloved member of the MTV family for more than a decad”. “The show is off the schedule as of today until we discuss next steps,” a G4 spokeswoman told to the sources.
Both Dunn and his passenger were severely burned. Police said they were able to identify Dunn through his tattoos and hair, but the identity of his passenger was still unknown. In conflicting statements, one of Dunn’s friends told TMZ that he was "not too drunk to drive," while another person who was at the bar stated that Dunn was “wasted” and "had a lot to drink.”
