Spiritual guru 84-year-old Sri Sathya Sai Baba passed away this morning at a hospital in Puttaparthi. According to Sri Sathya Sai Trust, the Baba passed away at 7.40 am.
His teachings were an eclectic blend of Hindu and Muslim beliefs.
The body will lie in state at Sai Kulwant Hall for two days Monday and Tuesday, it said, adding that arrangements will be made for darshan after 6:00 pm Sunday at the Hall.
It is requested by the management to the people, “We appeal to all not to rush to the hospital, but to remain calm and have Darshan in an orderly manner".
A brief statement issued by Dr. A. N. Safaya, Director of the Institute, “Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is no more with us physically. He left his earthly body on April 24, 2011 at 7:40 AM due to cardio-respiratory failure”. Sri Sathya Sai Baba as a preacher of the highest human values was an iconic figure for over five decades.
